What is the focus of your training and consultation? Two aspects of Wilhelm Reich's pioneering work are the focus. My first emphasis is on the theory and practice of Character Analysis. Secondly, I teach a somatic form of therapy which goes beyond mindfulness to deep functional change. This includes knowledge accumulated from many decades of work with the brain, which is now emerging as central to our understanding of psychopathology and healing. Why add yet another methodology to my therapist’s tool kit? I teach a method that offers a theoretical and emotional understanding of the functional identity between the patient's presenting character style and its somatic expression. This leads to a surer path toward your patient's Real Self while giving you, the practitioner, both greater professional satisfaction and protection against compassion fatigue. Read more here.
Who are you and what qualifies you to teach this material? I’m an MFT (1987) with over 2000 hours of advanced training. My unique background includes, besides expertise in Gestalt and BodyMind Integration, dual certifications in both neo-Reichian and classical orgone therapy. I have a (overly!) full therapy practice and have experience teaching in academic, clinical and private settings. Read more about my background and download my CV here.
